Impasto Painting Workshop

Class Description

This class will provide an introduction to Impasto Painting -- a technique using a palette knife to apply thick daubs of paint to the canvas in order to create a textured, dimensional surface to the finished painting. Many impressionist and post-impressionist painters such as Monet and Van Gogh used this technique to create their masterpieces. Learn about this layering technique to apply to your own vivid creation! We will explore layering colors using acrylic paints onto an 8"x10" canvas to create your masterpiece! No experience is necessary. Saturday, September 28th 12:30pm to 2:30pm $40 per person -- all materials included About the Instructor: A secondary art teacher at a local private school for the past 4 years, Christine Quier has taught drawing, painting, and other mixed media art to many individuals. She likes to incorporate art history by teaching techniques and styles used by artists of the past, as well as contemporary artists.
