Beginner Book Arts (for adults)

Class Description

Have you always wanted to learn about book-making, looking for another vehicle to display your artwork, or just want to learn something new and exciting? — Well, this is the class for you! In this class, we’ll first take a look at artist books for inspiration, then we’ll use our new bookbinding tools to explore lots of different fun structures and learn how to turn them into works of art. You’ll go home with a folder of new ideas and instructions, lots of wonderful book structures to inspire you, and a new bookbinding tool kit with everything you need to continue your exciting journey into book-making and book arts! A material fee is included in the price, but you will leave with a full 16-piece book-binding tool set and structure handouts with all you need to continue creating more captivating books! About the instructor: Dee Collins is a printmaker, book artist, and art educator. Her work spans many media, including: book arts, conservation bookbinding, decorative and conservation box-making, and printmaking. Dee’s work can be seen in libraries, universities, and private collections, along with the publications "500 Handmade Books, vol. 2" and "1,000 Artist Books." $75 per person + $10 material fee ** Must register by April 11th! ** Limited spots are available!
